Katie Detwiler is a rising junior at Loyola University Maryland where she plays defense for the Greyhounds. Katie had a breakout sophomore season and was named First Team All American. She was one of a few sophomores named to the prestigious Tewaarton Watch List. She served as captain of the Greyhounds and was honored as Patriot League Defender of the week 3x during the short season. As a freshman, Detwiler started in every game during her freshman season scooping up 23 ground balls and causing 12 turnovers. She was named to the 2nd Team All-Patriot League once and was even named “Patriot League Defender of the Week” after a standout performance vs Navy. Katie is a 2018 graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School where she was a starter all four years. She led her team to four Catholic League Championships and the first ever PIAA 3A State Championship in 2017 for the Patriots. Katie is a two-time All-American and Under Armour All-American who will be playing in the Under Armour Senior Game this summer. She received the prestigious Heather Leigh Albert Award in 2017 and captained the HLA team to the championship. She was named in the IL Women’s Top 40 ranked 30th in the country. Katie has enjoyed playing for Phantastix throughout High School and is excited to continue her time with the program coaching this Summer.
